The Impact of a Single Event could have more impact

This story is about people searching for meaning and direction in their life. I enjoyed the stories interwoven with a mysterious antique journal. Sometimes the story feels like it jumps around too much. It was entertaining but I began to feel a void when a character discusses his travels in India. He has a passionate and heart wrenching search for meaning. He seeks an Indian teacher who is very wise and helps him to learn to live in the moment rather than in the past or future. This wise man tells him that life is meaningless. The void I felt is that there is an important character missing in this story. His presence in a person's life gives it meaning and direction... God. A wise person would seek God in their search for true meaning and direction in life.
